GREEN-X Handed Over the First Green Tourism Standards to Khanh Hoa

On June 11, Smart Green Transformation Center (GREEN-X) officially handed over the first Green Tourism Standards to Khanh Hoa province, marking a significant milestone in efforts to promote sustainable tourism development in the locality. The event was witnessed by Mr. Dinh Van Thieu – Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, along with representatives from departments, associations, and local tourism businesses.

The standards are the result of a research project under the Green Transformation Program of Khanh Hoa province for the 2024–2030 period. The project was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Thuc Anh, with participation from two students from VinUni College of Business and Management — Bui Hong Anh and Pham Nguyen The Anh — and guidance from Prof. Christopher Anderson from Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration (USA).

The handover package includes two green standards for accommodation establishments and tourist attractions, a handbook guiding the implementation of Green Tourism Standards, and an intelligent evaluation application to help businesses self-assess and assist management agencies in monitoring compliance.

These standards focus on enhancing service quality, improving visitor experience, and ensuring hygiene, safety, and waste management — aiming toward sustainable tourism development that meets international standards.
