Ho Chi Minh City, September 23, 2025 – The Smart Green Transformation Center (GREEN-X), in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies (HIDS), organized the seminar titled “Current Status and Solutions for Green Transformation in the New Ho Chi Minh City.”
The seminar was co-chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Thuc Anh, Vice Rector and Executive Director of GREEN-X, and Mr. Pham Binh An, Deputy Director of HIDS.

The event brought together a large number of experts, scientists, government representatives, research organizations, and businesses, who shared diverse perspectives on Ho Chi Minh City’s green transformation direction in its new phase of development.
During the seminar, participants focused on key topics such as:
- A preliminary assessment of Ho Chi Minh City’s current green transformation progress;
- Draft goals and targets for green transformation across key sectors for the 2030–2035 period;
- Plans for integrating digital transformation into the city’s green transformation strategy;
- And orientations and comprehensive solutions to promote Ho Chi Minh City as a green, smart, and sustainable urban center.
As part of the ongoing development process, the Ho Chi Minh City Green Transformation Master Plan is being researched and designed to provide consultancy and propose comprehensive solutions for green transformation across several critical sectors, including: Green Energy; Green Transportation and Logistics; Green Urban Infrastructure; Green Industry; Green Trade and Services; Green Agriculture; Green Lifestyles; Green Finance; and Green Human Resources. These priority pillars aim to establish a balanced development pathway integrating economic growth, environmental protection, and social well-being.
The seminar served as a collaborative forum connecting policymakers, experts, enterprises, and research organizations to jointly develop a shared vision for sustainable development and climate adaptation, while aiming to build a green, smart, and internationally competitive city.

The insights and recommendations presented during the seminar have contributed to shaping a strategic framework for the formulation of Ho Chi Minh City’s Green Transformation Master Plan, ensuring coherence among policy, technology, human resources, and urban governance.
